This guide will show you how to create Playlists within MagicInfo. Playlists allow you to put multiple images or videos together in a single Schedule block. To learn how to use Schedules please read our "Scheduling Content" guide.
Step 1: Log in to MagicInfo
- If you have a MagicInfo account with us, go to http://cms1.embeddigital.com:7001/MagicInfo/Login or http://cms2.embeddigital.com:7001/MagicInfo/Login and log in with your account information. If you don’t know your account information, contact us at support@embeddigital.com or +1-844-432-9696
Step 2: Create a Playlist
-
In the Menu Bar on the left side of the screen select "Playlist"
-
Here you can see all existing playlists in MagicInfo, including those created by other users. To see just the playlists you've created click "My Playlist"
-
Click on "New Playlist" in the Menu Bar
-
Choose the generations of Displays you would like the playlist to support. Certain features such as Video Wall are not supported by older generations, and they may have additional limitations on the size of content they support, so if you aren't using those older Displays it isn't recommended to select them
-
Select the Playlist Type from the drop-down
- General: This is a standard playlist format that allows you to choose images and videos from your Content Library which will be shown in the order you choose on a single Display
- Nested: This is a way to combine multiple playlists, for instance if you have a playlist of content that normally shows up on one Display but you would like that same playlist to occasionally show up on another Display as part of a larger playlist. An example would be if you have multiple menu Displays and want the weekly deals or featured items to run on every Display but at different intervals so customers can always see at least one menu displayed. This can be an easy way to combine sequential images or videos into content blocks that can be added to General playlists to save time with playlist creation.
- Tag: Allows the automatic creation of playlists based on content tags. For example you could have all content tagged with "Specials" automatically go into this playlist, and if you add or remove content tagged with "Specials" it will update the playlist for you.
- Video Wall: This is used for content that is designed to stretch across multiple displays in sync, such as videos or banner images
- Sync Play: This allows you to combine multiple playlists which sync their transitions and functions like a combination of Nested and Video Wall playlists.
-
Advertisement: Create a playlist that will sync to a specific advertising schedule. Unlike other playlists this allows you to set the number of times a particular piece of content will play before moving on. This is most useful for video loop and GIF advertisements that you would like to display for several minutes at a time without having them freeze when they get to the end of each piece of content.
-
Click and Drag the content you would like included from the left panel (Media Library) to the right panel (Playlist Content)
-
Click "Save"
If you have not added any content files yet, please read our "Uploading New Content" guide
