About General Playlists
- The "General" format for Playlists is the most commonly used and provides users with the flexibility to choose content like Images, Videos, or Nested Playlists to play on a display
- Works with all generations of Samsung Displays supported by MagicInfo
- Simple to create and manage content by clicking and dragging
- Allows users to set the order and length of play for each content item in the playlist
- Supports MagicInfo's built-in transitions between pieces of content
How to Create a General Playlist
- If you have a MagicInfo account with us, go to http://cms1.embeddigital.com:7001/MagicInfo/Login or http://cms2.embeddigital.com:7001/MagicInfo/Login and log in with your account information. If you don’t know which server your company is on or don't know your account information, contact us at support@embeddigital.com or +1-844-432-9696
- Navigate to "Playlist" in the menu on the left side of the screen
- Select "New Playlist" in the menu
- Choose which generations of Samsung Display you would like this playlist to support. Be aware that you should only select the older generations if you are using those displays. Otherwise the limitations of those generations will be adopted by the entire playlist and you may find some features are missing which are supported on newer models.
- Choose "General" from the dropdown menu
- Click "Create" to open the Playlist Editor
Adding and Arranging Content
- The Content Library is shown in the left panel
- Click on any content you would like to add to the Playlist, you will see it appear in the panel on the right (Playlist Panel) as a thumbnail. Content is ordered from Left to Right, Top to Bottom
- To rearrange any of the content in the Playlist you can simply click and drag it in the Playlist Panel to put it in the right order
- Hovering your cursor over any thumbnail will reveal 3 icons on the corners of the thumbnail
- The red X will remove that piece of content from the playlist, the file will remain in your content library
- The magnifying glass will expand the thumbnail to fill your browser window, this is helpful if you have similar images that can't be differentiated by the thumbnail
- The gear icon will open a settings menu for that piece of content
- Click on the gear icon to change playback settings for a specific piece of content in the playlist
- You can now set the dates you want the content to play within the playlist, or check the box labeled "Everyday" to have it play every single day the playlist does
- You can also choose how long the content will play during the playlist. This defaults to 5 seconds but you can make it longer or shorter depending on your needs
- You can also use Tags, they allow you to create a single playlist with different Tagged content then push that playlist to multiple displays while only allowing certain tagged items to appear on certain displays. An example would be having all of your displays show alternating Daily Deals and Menus, but just one of the displays also shows an ad for your loyalty program every other minute. This way you don't have to create a separate playlist for that other display, making future edits faster
- When you are satisfied with the Playlist you've created, click "Save" on the upper left above the Content Library panel to commit your edits
